I remember many wonderful lunches and dinners at the Palm in W. Hollywood back when Gigi held court. Expensive - yes, but such service! They had the New York attitude down cold.
On a recent trip to Las Vegas we managed to squeeze in a dinner and lunch at the Palm. We enjoyed both - especially the wonderful service. You will never be addressed as "you guys " here. Wine can be expensive but that seems to be the Las Vegas way.
For dinner I ordered the veal chop - a huge chop and perfectly grilled.
I think I liked our lunch even more than dinner. Same great service but a super great bargain two course business lunch. I ordered the skirt steak - actually two steaks with a huge plate of fried onions and chips and a small Caesars salad to start. At $22, this is a steal. I make skirts all the time and theirs was great!
I have one observation - not really a complaint - because Las Vegas has it's own idea of what is cool and what is not.
They hustle their guests - suggesting high priced wines by the bottle without a clue if you have any interest in ordering a bottle, a glass, or something else. And if you order a glass they don't ask which size glass you want - they just bring the larger 9oz size. In our case it ended up costing $78 for 2 glasses each. Not a big deal, but not what I would expect from a classy restaurant - even in Las Vegas.
