| - I haven't been to West Side Market in a while and I have been jonesing to visit. I am so happy that they opened on Sundays. The phrase, "Taking Back Sunday" was coursing through my mind as I wandered through the market looking for ingredients to make my home made sofrito with. The first booth I came across sold all the ingredients that I needed. But I made my way through the market anyway to see if anyone also sold the ingredients.
My sofrito ingerdients include recao, cilantro, onions, tomatoes, aji peppers, bell peppers, and garlic. Only one stand had recao, so that's where I ended up purchasing the ingredients. The price was on par with what I would normally pay at Dave's supermarket nearby.
While I was there, I visited Johnny Hot Dog, the West Side Café, and all the meat shops within the West Side Market. There is a great selection of pig, let me say. I'm going to have to buy some beef jerky and some bacon here sometime. It all looked so fresh an amazing.
Can't wait to go back, but finding parking is a pain.
