| - My husband and I stopped by Furniture Ranch on a whim; we'd driven past their store before and I'd always wanted to look at their furniture, so one afternoon we pulled in. Since it was a Sunday, I figured no one would be around and I'd just look in the windows, but to my surprise the store was open and Gabe, one of the owners, was working. I was just planning on looking at furniture, but when I saw their model kitchen at the back of the store, I was sold. I LOVED it! As it turned out, I'd been working with Lowe's on a kitchen remodel and was just about to close the deal. I'm so glad I didn't! The cabinets at Furniture Ranch were exactly what I had been looking for; it was so easy...I just told Gabe I wanted his model kitchen installed in my house. What I love most are the beautiful copper-like panels (some sort of metal treated to look like fired copper...so gorgeous) on the cabinet and drawer fronts - just beautiful! Gabe arrived a few days later to measure our kitchen and also made some recommendations, which I appreciated. My husband and I own an older territorial-style home in North Scottsdale and felt that Gabe really understood what we're trying to do here as far as renovating and remodeling in the rustic hacienda style. He "gets" it. Anyway, a couple of weeks later, Gabe returned with Paul, his shop foreman, for a final measure. After meeting Paul and watching him take measurements and make diagrams, I felt reassured that I'd chosen the right people for the job. Paul is meticulous and exacting - a true perfectionist. One of my cabinets had to fit inside a weird space, which required some scribing at the back of the cabinet and removal of drywall and a can light (issues that Lowe's wasn't willing to address), but the end result looks great. My new cabinets were installed last week; I love them so much, we're now having Paul craft a matching stove hood and are going to have him come back and make one additional cabinet. He is a genuine master craftsman and does beautiful work. And the guys who work with Paul - tearing out kitchens and helping install cabinets - are really nice guys; all very professional and easy to work with. As it turned out, I got MUCH better 100% CUSTOM cabinets for about the same price that Lowe's was going to charge me for installing their top-shelf Schuler cabinets. And these are so much more beautiful. The tile man who's installing our counter tops stopped by to look at the finished product and agreed that these cabinets were built by a master craftsman. He also incorrectly guessed that they must have cost a fortune. I want to add that none of this happened overnight...the whole thing took about 12 weeks start to finish; however, it could have been done sooner, but Gabe had to wait on ME since I was traveling abroad and didn't want the cabinets installed while I was away from home. I will add that after I paid Gabe my initial deposit on the cabinets, I belatedly read several reviews about Furniture Ranch that gave me pause and made me worry, but everything turned out great. Gabe and Paul were always very accommodating and good about getting back to me; I will say that if you need an immediate response from Gabe, emailing seems to work better than calling. I didn't call often, but when I did I sometimes had to leave a message, but my emails to Gabe were always answered promptly. I'd like to add, in response to other reviews I've read, that Gabe will not be calling you constantly to update you on the progress of your project. You tell him what you want and you trust that it's happening. If you need a progress report or if you have questions, email him. If you're looking for super fast, super cheap (and cheaply made) cabinets, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for superb craftsmanship and custom work at a reasonable and competitive price, then you should talk to Gabe at Furniture Ranch.
