| - I know, another casino buffet, right? I've been to Bacchanal, that $50 binge, and M's buffet for $27 seemed like a much better value.
First, the crowds. You don't have to wait three to four hours to get in (Maybe during the holidays, like thanksgiving or Christmas, the wait can be 1-2 hours. Just Call ahead and ask what the wait time is, so you're not surprised when you get there). I went on a Thursday night around dinner time (6:30), and my party of three just walked on in without a wait! Also at M, there ain't no pushy crowds there like at Bachanal. It's like the people at Bachanal haven't eaten for a few days (which may well be the case, but that's not the point), but none of the patrons there are friendly, or even passingly polite. No "excuse me while I push in front of you to pile my plate full of crab legs" kind of behavior (don't get me wrong, Bachanal is delicious, Just not worth it for a local to go to more than once or twice, considering the time and expense). While at M, that's the buffet where the locals go. It's calmer, more laid back, people are eating because they're legitimately hungry not trying to shove everything into their mouth to get their money's worth (ahem bachanal).
Oops, went on a rant there. Onto the actual food review.
The things that stood out to me at M are:
The prime rib! That prime rib. Holy cow, thank you cow, that was good. Medium rare is the way to go. I didn't see the marbling but assume the fat was pretty even throughout bc it was so tender and juicy.
Also unlimited beer, & wine! That was a pleasant surprise. Of course unlimited normal drinks too, like coffee, tea. Side note: their lattes aren't good.
They had yummy & spicy Indian & Thai curries, some Filipino dinner items, your standard salad bar, American food (Mac n cheese, pizza, etc), soups. No Seafood other than oysters/clams for dinner bc it's $10 more and only on the weekends (I think). Wide assortment of desserts, gelato, etc. It was generally very good and I was pleasantly surprised!
Also the lay out was easier to navigate, there was an open floor plan and you could easily scout out your next move. The back of the dining section also has windows, which is pleasant too. Overall, the dining experience at M was just that - a nice meal.
