  • SUMMARY: So-so for nails... not rushing back. FULL STORY: Had a manicure-pedicure here on a weekend. Called in advance and took the appointment time they suggested to be sure there was no rush. The receptionist I booked with by phone was polite and easy to schedule with; a different woman behind the desk when I arrived seemed annoyed and disinterested. So it's hit or miss on the welcome. This salon is alllll over the place, both in terms of products/services offered and in terms of managing the space and workflow. The reception / entrance area looked messy -- dust everywhere, tufts of hair and clipplings scattered around the waiting area carpet (how does it even get out there!?), crumpled papers, etc. Does not start you off with a polished impression. No greeting on arrival. Other clients seemed to have drinks, but I wasn't offered anything. No check-in on what type of mani-pedi service (they offer a few on the site). Finally a nail tech said hi and showed me back to the nail polish section. She was friendly at least! There were quite a few polish options -- problem is lots were old and dried out, yet still out on the shelf. When I found the right color, the bottle was empty... they didn't have a new one. The pedicure area seemed cleaner (bowl liners, fresh towels, sanitized instrument packs)... but it was crowded and noisy. Even though not all the chairs were occupied, somehow it was still cramped. Maybe down to the layout, and maybe because there were a bunch of hair stylists with dryers going nearby. Did not feel relaxing. The service itself was ok... not the best or the worst. A little salt scrub and massage, decent filing/buffing/etc. The polish job was ok if sliiightly streaky. The woman working with me was really nice. Another woman working in nails seemed grouchy, and came over to frown and borrow items every so often. Then she came back to say (without introducing herself) they didn't have time for my scheduled manicure. Then the same woman doing the pedicure started doing the manicure... didn't seem to be an issue... so not sure what that random comment was about. Then came the manicure. I wasn't thrilled with the mani station... it had another client's used pedi slippers and toe separators sitting on it. There were random cotton pieces, smudges, etc all over. But they put down a towel and got started. Mani was oook... again not relaxing or spa-like. Polish was kind of messy on the edges. My impression was that there were some good employees working at a salon that overall lacked polish and professionalism. The space was messy, and the salon was chaotic even without being full. As a result, both the clients and staff seemed stressed. Results were decent if not great. Price was reasonable. I think it could be better during a verrry slow time and with a consistent nail tech... maybe. Note: They don't accept tips on credit card.
