| - Every time I decide to choose Ryerson for whatever reason (certificate or degree), and I either go to their website or give them a visit during the open house week, I find myself hesitating and backing out from making that decision. Main reasons are:
- I was considering an MBA/MTI and went twice to attend one of their "libre acces" sessions, the first one was about Project Management, the second if I am not mistaking was on Regulations/Copyright. Not only the dynamic of the class was very undergrad to me, but also the content and the way it is being tackled doesn't even compare to my experience during my GBC post grad Business Analysis diploma's workshops and sessions. added to it the fact that their MBA is not even ranked "anywhere", also my experience with their website as a user left me very sceptical, and mainly when I compare it to other Bschools like JMSB (for something like 7k$)..anyway, many things to say but the main point is if I am gonna spend 25k$ on an MBA, it's a gotta be decent
- second, one of my alternatives was a master degree (not MBA), and again went to see what Ryerson has to offer and found that they have what it looks like a pretty decent Master degree in data science & analytics.. and again my user experience on their website, since they don't accept paper based applications, was confusing, with pages looping back most of the time and missing information on the application process. My point is if Ryerson want to teach a decent computer master degree program, everything related to computer science (website, UX, Flows...) most be decent. Unfortunately it wasn't the case with the website that I consider the first selling point like any other company (apple.com, walmart.com, Concordia.ca and the list goes on and on...)
sorry for rating this so low Ryerson! but my frustration piled up for different reasons: quality of the website (MBA), ROI/Cost, information available and application process flow (Msc Data Science)
