This was our mexican restaurant of choice for almost 30 years. Sadly, they have closed their doors after 74 years in business. The food and service were inconsistent the last few years which points to poor management. My guess is the recession affected their business and they never recovered. When they were "on" La Perla's food was unmatched. The "yellow" salsa, which I believe they made with juarito peppers, is by far the best I ever tasted! The Green Chile, Albondigas soup, and Machaca were also amazing. La Perla, we will remember you always. Unfortunately there isn't any restaurant in town that can compete with what you offered. We had so many great family memories there too.
