  • I have patronized At Your Service for over five years; first for their specialty dog food and then for grooming services. I appreciated their input on food, as I have had two dogs with special dietary needs. One needed a gentle food due to pancreatitis and one has a wheat intolerance. This store had all the options, knowledgeable staff and fair prices. Then I adopted a new puppy that needed to be groomed and I was at a loss, because my previous dogs never needed to get their hair cut. It was easy for me to bring my baby in, because I trusted their opinion and judgement regarding food options. There has been a couple of groomers that have worked at AYS and they were all fine - I am very specific about my expectations for a hair cut and I felt comfortable leaving little girl at the shop. My girl is a bit skittish, nervous and does not like new people so it was important that I felt this was a safe environment for her. Up until 3/8/14, I thought AYS was that safe, comfortable spot. On 3/8/14 I had an appointment to get my girl's hair cut and groomed. I was told over the phone it was a new groomer. Although I had really liked the previous groomer, we gone through this before and I still willing to take my girl to the same location. However, when my husband and I approached the grooming section in the back we could hear all the dogs barking/howling - there were at least four. When walked in, we were greeted with an accusatory, "You have an appointment?!?" After I confirmed that we did, the new groomer did not believe us and stormed to the front of the store to "check." At that point red flags were raised. With all the dogs upset and this rude woman, I told my husband my instinct was to leave this place as fast as possible. He wanted to wait and see what she said. She came back five minutes later and stated, "I am really busy today. But if you want to leave your dog, I will do it." UMMM, NO. We ran out. If this is how we were treated and we are adults that can share and verbalize - how does she treat animals that cannot? I love my dog and I would never leave her with a woman that so obviously did to deal with us but would - as a favor. I will not be visiting AYS again and I am desperately trying to find the previous groomer.
