  • I give 5 stars for the Ambassadors, but zero for the corporation because that's what it is, a corporation. DTPHX, Inc., is a CORPORATION that expects its Ambassadors--the walking-talking human information desks combo concierges-- to go "above and beyond" (as per its motto) for guests to downtown Phoenix. However, DTPHX does NOT even meet basic standards for its field staff. Training is a joke and DTPHX expects their hourly wage employees to read the training and employee manuals on their own time. THAT'S ILLEGAL. Also, there's no support for new staff during their 90-day training period even despite emails written asking for more on-the-job training AND feedback to which the employee was told there was no negative feedback. Both on- and off-boarding are unprofessional as is their fiscal team, who YELLED and LIED to me. They hire for people-oriented leadership, but do not demonstrate it in the office! The pass/fail criterion for the 90-day probation period is if you're liked by your condescending foreman. Emotional abuse at all levels, sexism, and racism run rampant at DTPHX, including from cohorts, but, given that Arizona is a right-to-fire state, good luck proving any-thing. FAVORITISM is also an integral part of the company culture. If you don't believe me, look at how enforcing uniforming is partial to the employee! None of the non-favorites will say or do anything about these issues because they need their job. In short, DTPHX has created a culture of fear among new and lower level employees. And to top it off, one of the first responders, who is also one of the foremen, gives out poor medical advice that actually HURTS people and makes the situation WORSE. Additionally, employees are told not to get involved in (potentially dramatic) situations that WOULD help someone who really needed it. A foreman told an Ambassador not to "get involved" or call 911 because it was not the Ambassadors' job plus... IT COULD MAKE DTPHX, INC. LOOK BAD IF PHOTOS/FILM WERE TAKEN. It's about KEEPING UP APPEARANCES!!!! How's that for going "above and beyond"????
