  • Wow my first visit to the R&R Hall of Fame and yes, I was impressed and it was a LOT of fun! First from the outside, the glass-enclosed, greenhouse-like design by architect IM Pei is modern and impressive. Enter the space and all that sunshine makes for a wonderful lobby with lots of activity and music seeping through the space. Perfect to get yourself in the mood for what you're about to experience. We get a wrist-band out front and start the tour, checking out the electric guitars out front and then head into the paid section. There is just SO much to see in this museum, you could spend half a day or more if you'd like but I'd set aside at least 2 - 3 hours for your first visit.. There are exhibits covering rock n roll cities, music types (punk, heavy metal, pop, etc), seminal bands (Rolling Stones, Beatles, Elvis, etc) with all sorts of memorabilia! My faves included the Michael Jackson glove, Angus Young's schoolboy outfit, a guitar from the Edge and a suit from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club band! There's bench seating through out the museum and then we walked through a darkened signature hall for all the past inductees, very cool. It's really a great experience and homage to most popular music from the 60's to 90's and a treat for anyone over 25. I'll have to come back with a bit more time, make sure you've got some comfortable shoes when you visit!
