| - We had a rental car and a few hours to kill before our flight, and a hot tip from a dealer on the Strip that this place had the low minimums and good odds. So we took a chance on this lonely place way out on the Boulder Highway.
Great choice! We rolled in on a sleepy Monday morning to dollar craps and three dollar blackjack (3:2!). The waitresses seemed happy to get any tips at all, and so kept 'em coming. We all won, and the pit boss (David) couldn't have been nicer the whole time we were there.
Granted, this is a super-smokey, dingy, locals-only place. It's also Boyd Gaming's break-in dealer casino, so chances are you're going to get someone who's is going to make mistakes, if not getting lessons from the pit boss right there as you play. As long as you are willing to watch closely to make sure you aren't getting shorted, it's not a big deal.
If you want swank, stay far away. But if you're a low roller who doesn't mind driving from the Strip, you're going to find a friendly crowd and the lowest miminums in town.
