I have to make an update on the Princess. I have been coming here every year for at least 6years. Usually in June. This past year I decided to come for Thanksgiving. Just wanted to be away. I didnt read up on anything before my stay since I know the hotel so well. All I can say is, WOW! You need to see this place on Thanksgiving or I guess between that time and New Years. I went not expecting anything at all and when I walked in the lobby was decorated so festively for the holidays. Christmas trees and everything else that goes with it. 2 lobby dogs (golden lab/retriever) in cute christmas outfits. My spirits were immediately lifted. I was going away because I was feeling a bit down and didnt want holiday reminders but instead, it did the exact opposite. It made me so happy. I had a lovely room with a view of the pond. Then I walked around the grounds. What I did NOT expect to see were an ice skating rink, christmas lights, a train going around the property, smores fire pits, an amazing light display projecting holiday images on the front outside wall. I felt transported into a magical happy place. How could you NOT be happy here. It was done with perfect class and elegance. It was just what the doctor ordered! My mood picked up tremendously and I dont know if they are piping in some happy air or something, but I was just so thrilled to be there. I dont need to comment on the accomodations, food and spa, as I think they are always wonderful. I just really needed to mention though the experience during the holidays. Maybe it was because I didnt expect it that I was so wowed. Anyone though walking in would be blown away. Just a very happy place to be. Well done!!!!
