This UMC Quick Care facility should be last on your list...go to the emergency room if you can. On the initial visit I waited over 2 hours to be seen. When the doctor, Miguel Sepulveda, came in I could barely understand his English. He had me take x-rays and said that my lungs were retaining fluid. I had been coughing for weeks and my throat and chest was raw and in pain. I specifically asked him for cough syrup to ease the spasms. He said yes he would prescribe it, no problem. He then told me he wanted me on steroids. I told him that I was an insulin dependent diabetic and his words were, "well what do you what, your sugar up temporarily or to be able to breathe?"....I told him it would pop my readings up over 400 easily even taking extra insulin. He didn't care. When I picked up my medicine at the Walgreens next door I noticed there was no cough syrup....and instead he ordered a $28 dollar pill for "cough suppression" and nothing for my very painful throat and chest. The next day I went back to the Hell on Earth medical center and waited 90 minutes to ask why I didn't get the medicine. I was told his medical assistant (because he didn't have the balls to talk me personally and was hiding in the back). that he would not give me the cough medicine..essentially because of his anti-drug narcotic stance...Imagine that! He would allow me to drive a car and possibly have an episode and pass out possibly killing myself and others on the road because of super high blood sugar or have me have a seizure but wouldn't give me a 120 year old tried and true medicine because it contained codeine...and might I add would have cost $5 instead of $28. On top of it all, he never even looked at my torn-up throat, deemed that I had no infection and gave me no antibiotics. I went back the next day thinking that he had made a mistake and didn't realize he had given me pills instead of liquid. So after being told that he wouldn't give me anything for the pain in my throat and chest I had some choice words for his assistant and walked out angrily. The staff out front was more than pleasant but the incompetence within is unbelievable...don't go here!I went to another doctor at Southern Hills ER on Ft. Apache one week later when I wasn't getting any better at all and was told that I have a very bad infection and this doctor COULD NOT BELIEVE that Dr. Miguel Sepulveda gave me steroids without checking my heart with an EKG first. He pulled me off the medication that Sepulveda prescribed and gave me codeine and cough syrup to stop the spasms in my throat and stomach (which by now were excruciatingly bad from the coughing fits). I'm lucky I'm not in the hospital from this incredible negligence. I had to spend 75 dollars but I received top notch treatment by a Dr. Lin and was able be diagnosed properly. I will never go back to UMC Quickcare again.
