| - When I first went to Landis Cyclery, I was satisfied that they were a reputable company. The guy that helped me, David Crawford, knew what he was doing and was very accommodating. I have a small fleet a pedicabs (Lets Ride AZ). My bikes take a beating on the streets and I really needed someone reputable to perform service and repairs. The last time I brought my bikes to them, they needed some extensive work and had to be left for a couple of days. I was OK with leaving the bikes there, but apparently the owner was not. It was not my suggestion to leave these 2 bikes there, i left them based on their recommendation. The repairs were completed satisfactorily, but I was advised to NEVER come back with the bikes. The owner, I was told, did not want the bikes there. So despite me paying them hundreds of dollars in service and repairs, they do not want my business.
I asked David if it would be OK if he were to perform the service and repairs at my location, after work with Landis. He asked and was told absolutely not! He is a good kid and does good work, but Landis will not let him work on bikes in hos free time.
I'd say stay away from Landis. I'm not sure what the motivation was for
1) them to tell me not to return with my bikes and
2) for them to not allow one of their employees to not work on bikes in his own time.
