Three of us were in East Charlotte and decided to try this place out. I had the gyro with fries and my two friends had the chicken shawarma with fries and the grilled beef kabob with lentil soup and rice.
The grilled beef kabob was the tastiest. Probably about 12 small pieces of beef on a plateful of rice. He said the creamy lentil soup was delicious.
My gyro left a lot to be desired. If you're used to gyros with tzatziki sauce, prepare for disappointment. The pita was fairly large, but there wasn't much meat on it. The menu says it comes with tahini sauce, but it was more like a watery mayo without any of the flavor of tahini. It also had pickles which are different on a gyro, but I like pickles, so that was fine. The french fries were the same as frozen fries from a grocery store.
The chicken shawarma included two wraps and regular fries. It was pretty dry according to my friend.
Since all of us are water drinkers, we asked for glasses of water. Impossible to have here. You have to have the bottled water. The menu says it's spring water, but it's cheap purified water.
Service to the table was efficient, but no one checked on us at any time. The owner was friendly as others have mentioned when we went up to order and pay the bill.
Our bill came to $32 and change.
