| - So glad we checked out Mindful Brewing while we were in Pittsburgh for the holidays! We showed up around 5:30 and were met with an hour wait time for a group of 4. The dining areas and bars were all pretty busy, so that wasn't a surprise. I noticed multiple large coolers packed with a HUGE variety of craft beer and a few impressive shelves of wine for purchase. There's a huge projection screen in the downstairs dining area, perfect for game day. The main bar had about 25 taps and the upstairs bar had about 10-15 taps. There is also an upstairs patio.
Our group ordered a round of beers while we waited and the selection is fantastic! Some beers are brewed in house, while others are not. I even noticed a local Cincinnati tap, Rhinegeist, which was pretty neat! I tried the house IPA first and then the house Belgian IPA second. The Belgian IPA was AWESOME. Like buy in a growler to take home awesome. As luck would have it a table by the bar opened up so we took our name off the main dining room list. We had waited for an hour already and were not even close to being seated. Next we ordered food: an order of chips and guacamole, a chicken ceaser salad, chicken ceaser wrap, and steak sandwich. The chips and guacamole were surprisingly delicious and probably the best item out of the lot. The chicken on the salad was delish and very tender, but the rest of the salad was underwhelming. Reviews on the steak sandwich and wrap were so-so as well. We all kinda regretted not just getting a pizza because the ones we saw being delivered to neighboring tables looked really good.
As a Cincinnati native, and self proclaimed beer snob, I was impressed with this brewery. The food and the wait were....eh....but It wouldn't stop me from going back again just to drink and hangout!
