This is one of the worst rental car facilities in the country, if not the world. It's not only off site, but it's a full 3 miles from the airport.
If you're returning to the airport and simply navigate to the airport you're going to be in for a ride.
Also, Google doesn't even have an entry for the rental car center in English, so you can't navigate to it easily, when you zoom in on the map the name of it appears to be in Chinese characters hence why it doesn't return in a search result.
The shuttle service is very spotty. It took a full 50 minutes to get to the rental car facility. Not to get in my car, but just to get from standing in line to the actual facility. The line was massively long, and the shuttles were sparse, and they purposely limited each shuttle to 25 passengers (not a single person standing) even though the buses could easily hold 40-50. They actually sit there and count. The shuttle service is privatized and ran by a company called First Group -- terri.reed@firstgroup.com is the general manager.
Whoever thought this was a good idea was probably accepting planes full of cash. There's no other rational reasoning to this facility's existence.
I've never seen anything like it in my life and I've been to a lot of airports, rented a lot of cars from a lot of off site rental facilities. This is the kind of experience that you remember when thinking "where should I book a trip to" and remember what a PITA the LAS experience is. For the amount of money that is poured into the strip, the complete lack of proper infrastructure in LAS is astounding.
