| - I love that this location serves dim sum via cart every single day, not just on the weekend. And they offer the full assortment, not some skimpy version of the weekend menu.
On this particular visit, I was passing through Phoenix on my way home. Nothing like having a mean craving for dim sum in the middle of the week.
I arrived before the doors even opened. Once in, I was swiftly seated and provided water. Within minutes, the first cart came around. I figured I would be the only person there for hours. But, no, not so. Groups started pouring in about 20 minutes later. By the time I left, there were numerous tables seated with larger groups.
Now, we all know that it is impossible to eat dim sum solo. Like, ridiculous impossible! But I wanted my dim sum now! So, solo I went. This meant, of course, that I didn't get a chance to order as much as I would have preferred.
I found that everything was absolutely fresh, and the portion sizes were a tad bit larger than I was accustomed. Nice but, again, I was trying to go for as many things as possible. In the end, I had five orders and wasn't able to finish off every bite of food. And there was a slight miscommunication over a special order, which was somewhat disappointing, but turned out to be OK. Thank goodness I am open to trying out different types of things.
My recommendation -- go! You may have to wait a long, long time on the weekend for a table. But it will be well worth the wait. Just be sure to take a sizable group along with you so that you are able to try as many items as possible.
