  • Pastries A-La-Carte has a huge selection of cookies, pastries and cakes that are absolutely works of art, but they are SO expensive. I recently got a couple dozen (2 and half-ish) dozen) of assorted cookies for dessert and a couple donuts and it was almost $40! Small, 1 bite cookies are over $1 a piece. Some cookies are closer to $2 a piece. Other bakeries offer the exact same cookies at half the price. While the cookies are tasty and beautiful, I can't justify spending that much when there are so many other local bakeries with equally good cookies at a fraction of the cost. I'm just as pleased with the big grocery store cookies and they are much cheaper and nobody would know the difference once they are on a platter. I purchased a couple donuts for my boyfriend to enjoy. As he was eating it, he found a hair stuck in the glaze. I know it happens and can happen anywhere, just grossed us out. Unfortunately, we won't be stopping again anytime soon. There are so many other little family owned bakeries in the area that offers the same quality at reasonable prices that we can go to instead.
