  • After a great trip down the river and an awesome time with our group of around 50 dads and kids, the company completely failed us on the pick up. We made it to the pick up spot about 15 mins before our scheduled time at 3. Perfectly on time. Turned out they decided to take the 4 pm check in time group who came in early which resulted in our group waiting for 3 hours at the marina! Why provide a pick up time if you can't honor it? If we were late I could totally understand taking the other group first but this was unacceptable! Sure would have loved spending hat 3 hours on the river and not hanging around the marina. Of course by the time they were ready for us, the 5 pm group was there too and it was nothing short of chaos amongst the desert adventure crew. We had to load our stuff back on to make sure it all was included then there was confusion on what group was in which van. Side note....15 of us were loaded in the van and we had to ask to have them turn on the AC! I should probably mention the stress of spouses who were expecting to hear from us by a certain time and did not as there is no service whatsoever at the marina. To add to the stress, we had a dad and daughter leave the day before and Desert Adventures told us they never showed up! We finally got into range to call the dad and he said they were picked up earlier the day before by one of the DA crew and guessed they never told the others. Common sense and a bit of concern for the client would go a long way. This is the second year they screwed something up but this was the final straw.
