We had many annoying experiences with Banfield- mostly with scheduling appointments. The big and final straw for me was when my at-the-time puppy had ingested a large amount of ibuprofen. I called Banfield in a panic, explaining what had happened. The woman over the phone told me "hmm well we're all booked up- looks like the next appointment available is on such-and-such day...." WHAT!!?? I explained that he was clearly ill... It didn't phase her. I couldn't believe her lack of urgency as ibuprofen is LETHAL in dogs! I told her right then and there that I'd be taking my pets off of Banfield's wellness plan (that required jumping through some hoops). The next vet I called urged me to drop everything I was doing and rush my pup to their location. Thank goodness we did, because the toxicology report stated that my dog ate around 8 pills of ibuprofen. He could have died- or had permanent kidney damage at the least. Luckily he only had Acute kidney failure. After 48 hours at the vet hospital and lots of IV fluids and treatment he made a full recovery.
If you actually care about keeping your pet alive, I suggest exploring other vets.
