  • Don't even think about moving in here - I'm serious! I would hate for anybody to have to deal with what I had to deal with. I lived here for 2 years (was never late on rent and never had any complaints about me). When my first years lease was coming to an end I got got a notice on my door explaining that I either had to renew or give my 60 day notice by a certain date. I decided to renew my lease only because I didn't want to deal with moving all my stuff. I knew my least was coming to end after my second year and decided that I was going to move but I never received anything on my door like the year before. I actually went down to the office to check when my lease was up so I had time to put my 60 day notice in that I was moving out. SHE TOLD ME THE WRONG DATE! She let me sign the paper stating that I was moving out on January 14th because that's when she told me my lease was up. I called TWICE (because I lost the paper I wrote it down on the first time I called) to ask what my prorated rent was for the month of January and TWO different people told me my half rent amount. After I moved out I got a letter stating I owed over a thousand dollars. I was so confused because I left my apartment in great shape. I even scrubbed it clean before I turned my keys in. When I called to figure out what the issue was, she told me that my lease wasn't up until February 18! She told me that I broke my lease! WHAT?! Nobody ever explained that to me otherwise I wouldn't have moved out a month early. I just went off of what the lady in the office told me. Also, why would anybody have given me my prorated amount if I was still going to have to pay another months rent??? We went down there twice to get this issue resolved and each time we were told that they couldn't do anything for us. It was their mistake and they didn't want to own up to it and correct it until we brought up the fact that we would contact corporate and even take them to court over it. They finally agreed to wave the last months rent because there was no denying it was their fault. Still haven't received my security deposit and I will be shocked if I do. They're so unorganized. In fact, they even put the wrong name on my lease. Save yourself the trouble and find someplace else to live. THE VILLAS ON BELL ARE GREAT!
