| - I haven't been to other cities' ribfest, so I cannot compare or comment as to how Mississauga's event is run. However, it seems pretty well organised, volunteers were nice and informative, and everyone looked as though they were enjoying themselves!
I liked that there was more than just ribs here, including: bbq chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, burritos (if you wanted!), churros, corn, blooming onions, kettle corn, grilled cheese sandwiches, AND even a coupla breweries there. I thought the variety was great for all sorts of diets.
One thing that I must point out are the Eco-Station centres. At first, I thought it was weird that there weren't any garbage cans around. However, after I found out the concept behind the centres, I thought it was neat. Basically, you bring your empty container, full of bones, wet naps, napkins, cutlery, and the volunteers sort it appropriately.
Admission was free, with a $2 donation suggested. VIP passes, which had pretty sweet perks were $20/$35 (with 1/2 rack + 2 sides). Good idea for a family to get 1 pass to by-pass the lines/use the better washrooms! ;)
