There is a segment of society that either likes to or is forced to work third shift when the rest of the world is sound asleep. Hospitals, airports, factories, select grocery stores and police stations are all buzzing with activity from sunset to sunrise. I feel a truly metropolitan area needs to be active 24/7. Cleveland is so-so in that regard.
When us graveyarders have a night off, there is rarely anything to do or places to shop besides Wal-Mart. I used to hit the BP or Get-Go by my house for late night needs, but lately they have been closed at night. Giant Eagle on 117th is an option. But for a quicker in and out transaction, my new favorite is the Walgreens at 117th and Detroit.
I won't go into the details of what they sell as that would be stupid. The four stars is strictly for serving the late night demographic.
I almost feel a kinship with the clerks as fellow vampires. And there is usually a cop there, which is reassuring. The fact there is a cop at Lakewood Library every day is a bit disturbing.
