While searching for shows and things to do in Vegas, I came across a Groupon for the Titanic Artifact Exhibit which included an audio tour. Actually Groupon came in pretty handy for me during my trip since I found quite a few deals to use during my vacation.
Upon entering we were given boarding passes with real passenger's information on it and at the the end of the tour you can see if the person survived or not. We were also given hand held devices that we could listen to for the audio tour. I really enjoyed reading about each artifact and listening to the stories that went with it. It was cool seeing all of the items, like personal belongings of passengers, and reading about the differences of first class, second class and third class. My favorite part was seeing a replica of the gorgeous staircase with the clock and it brought me back to the scene in the movie where Jack is waiting for Rose at the staircase. There were other interesting items such as a huge piece from the boat and it literally took years to pull it out of the water. Also they had a real freshwater replica of an iceberg that was pretty neat.
The only downside is that no photography is allowed and they have cameras watching you! I took my phone out for a second to check a text message and someone popped out of nowhere to tell me to put my phone away. The people that took photos and attached to Yelp must have been slick with their cameras!
We really enjoyed the exhibit and recommend it if you want to learn more about history.
