I ordered a taxi from my vet's office and specifically requested a non-smoking car and was told 5-10 minutes. A van finally arrived at 6:45 and the driver showed me he had parked in the driveway of the car wash next door because of the traffic.
When I got in the van STANK of second-hand smoke. Unfortunately, I could not go back to the vet office because they had closed (they were just waiting for me to leave). I advised the driver that I had requested a non-smoking cab because I am highly allergic, and asked that he leave the windows open. He opened the front passenger side about 2 inches and his side maybe a 1/4 inch (since it was a van, the back windows could not be opened). When he turned on the heat, I got a blast of cigarette smoke in the face, so asked him to turn it off. So my cat and I froze in a reeking, disgusting cab, number 01750.
When I left the cab, my head was pounding and I felt nauseous. I had plans for the evening but had to cancel, take my migraine medicine and go to bed.
If Beck Taxi cannot accommodate a simple request for a non-smoking cab, then the dispatcher should have let me know when I ordered the cab.
