Suddenly I remember why my husband and I stopped coming here 6 years ago.
(Actually, it wasn't suddenly, it was about 90 minutes ago when we were first approached by our server...who did not introduce himself, but led with "have you decided what you'd like to drink?" A glass of water would've been a nice accompaniment to your entrance.)
Anyway...
$11 for vodka + water ($2 upcharge for "rocks", oh! that must have been the crushed ice...)
$13 for an Old Fashioned - ALSO SERVED WITH CRUSHED ICE ... (maybe the jokes on me, and this is the new thing?)
I've had better tasting desserts from a sub-par grocery store bakery. (Which I happen to despise exactly because they taste like they've come from a sub-par grocery store bakery.)
Trust me when I say it's not about the prices - it's that Charlotte has so many phenomenal options (that I'll gladly pay for), and then catching a glimpse of the ironic chalkboard message behind the bar while I sip on my underwhelming cocktail wondering what my server's name is...
