| - Legacy Apartments at Ballentyne (formerly known as Crestmont Apartments
http://www.yelp.com/biz/crestmont-at-ballantyne-charlotte) is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived at.
Management is cold and rude. They have no customer service skills and they care very little about you or your problems. They are unscrupulous changing dates on our contract where it was obvious it was not something we approved of by the lack of initials by the white out they used.
Maintenance
1. Our children got some water on the floor from a bath (upstairs) and it leaked into our kitchen (downstairs) leaving an ugly stain. Maintenance came in to "fix" this problem by spraying paint over the stain getting paint all over the kitchen appliances and some of our kitchen items, my wife went in to complain to management and the guy was there so she just told him, he came in the next week and did the same thing. While doing it he got paint permanently on a tea pot that I bought my wife for our anniversary.
2. The toilets are always clogging. This is no exaggeration... they have to be plunged every other time they are used. The bathtub clogs easy too.
3. When we moved in we were told that the seal on the windows would be fixed... a year later still not done
4. The bathroom drawer went unfixed for a month from the time we moved in
Pests
1. When my wife said something about the 2 to 3 millipedes she finds crawling around the apartment daily she was told that the apartment isn't spraying for pests this month or something to that extent.
2. Since we have moved there we have had roaches, black widows, frogs, and a lizard in the apartment. Oh, and a copper head slithered over my mother-in-law's foot on the front porch
3. There is a huge copper head problem, Im told that they are aware that there is a bad copper head infestation.
Energy Theft
1. Yes, that's a real thing. I didn't know it until it happened to us but here is the low-down:
My wife went out the front door at about noon one day and found that he fountain on the front porch had been unplugged. In the outlet was an orange extension cord leading to the grounds keeper truck. As she walked to look in the open door of the truck she passed the grounds keepers who were (as usual) taking a siesta on the grass in front of our apartment. When she looked in the truck she found the extension cord led to a microwave. My wife did not feel comfortable waking the men from their nap on the lawn and wasn't sure if they spoke English so she walked to the front office who blew her off saying "Oh yeah, its their lunch time." They spoke to her without even looking up at her. They said, "We will take care of it." Like it was no big deal and went about working as if they were done with her. Later while on the back porch she heard them talking trash about her in front of the office. They gossip with each other and tenants a lot.
"Violations of contract" accusations
1. Was three days late paying a utility bill and got a threat on my door saying they could now terminate our lease.
2. I had some body damage to my car from a wreck and a note was left on my car saying that I was in violation of the contract for having an "inoperable" car. My wife went in to tell them that the car was not inoperable and they proceeded to argue with her and started asking if the registration was up to date which had nothing to do with the notice on my car. Registration was up to date btw.
Washer/Dryer
1. Our washer machine was broken. Management's solution to this problem for 2 months was give us a key to the model home to do our laundry which would have been some kind of solution had the locks not been changed to the model home. But still we got the town home knowing that a washer and dryer came with it and it went unfixed far too long.
Pool
1. Nasty film of dirt leaves and grease floating at the surface of the pool.
Club House
1. Worst Clubhouse ever. It's not a club house. There is nothing to do there except sit on the sofa. It's an office for management folks. It's not something you could ever host a party at or would find any reason to go to.
Gym
1. We purposely got an apartment with a gym and it was closed for remodeling for half of our first 6 month lease
2. The treadmills sound and shake like they are about to break and the channels don't work on the tv part
3. The AC is turned to 62 in the gym every time we go
Quality of housing
1. There is mismatched paint
2. Shelf top of fireplace turned black after use
3. AC will leak on your furniture
4. Poor condition of apartment exterior
5. Cant use the grass they let dogs poop and pee there
