| - Broken dryer from Spencer's with an expired warranty.
The soonest they could get there was 5 days out. Fair enough, but they didn't give me a time frame for when they'd be there. Instead, they said someone would call me between 7-9 AM to schedule my service for that day. Not ideal, but I'm sure they have their reasons. At this point I should have called someone else, since I'm not under warranty, but I had an appointment, right?
9:15 that day I called them to ask if anyone was ever going to call me...at about 10 I got a call that he could be there between 3 and 5.
At this point it's too late to go into work only to leave early, so I take the day off.
45 minutes later they call to cancel. An emergency came up, they can reschedule me for two or three days from now...but they can't give me a time frame. They can't give me any sort of appointment. Same thing. They'll call me at 7-9 to tell me when they can come. Um, fool me once...
I asked to speak to the manager and it turns out I was. I told her I had taken the day off work for this and the least they could do is give me a time that they'll be there so I won't have to take a full day and I can plan my life. She said she'd have to call me back. She did call me back an hour later with an 11-11:30 timeframe, while I appreciate the effort, too late. I had already hired someone else.
I get the feeling most people who use them have Spencer's warranties and have no choice. Luckily I'm not obligated, but I can avoid buying appliances at Spencer's.
