  • I almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep this place to myself...but in the interest of public service, here it is. I said to a friend of mine, "I really wish we could find a place that played awesome retro hip-hop." She looked at me and said, "um, the Foundation Room?" It's a bar/lounge that is really, really close to her place and she had been talking about a lot. We got there around 11:30 on a Friday and there was a small line, but the bouncer recognized my friend and let us in which was super nice. The coat check was full when we got in, so we just threw our coats on a bench. The lounge is a long, narrow space, with one bar near the entrance, and it was PACKED. I loved the vibe. Everyone seemed to be there to dance and have a good time, and we chatted with a ton of people. The music was amazing and as mentioned, the vibe was warm and energetic. Also as mentioned, there is only the one bar, but the staff were so quick and helpful that you never waited long. The drinks were normal Toronto lounge prices (around $7.50) and there was....GET THIS...no cover! So I may have ruined it for myself, but y'all are going to have a great time.
