  • We recently moved from Cleveland, OH to Tempe, AZ. The U-Box business in Ohio was wonderful, box arrived on time in good condition. We loaded it ourselves and they picked it up again on time. However, when we arrived in Tempe a week later expecting to have all our stuff, the box had not arrived and would not arrive for another five days. Do not believe the receipt which says 8 days for delivery. When we arrived in Tempe on a Monday we called the local UBox store and they said they had the box but could not deliver the box until Friday. I asked not to be charged if the delivery was late- they charged us anyway. We paid over $1500 for a small storage crate of our belongings to be delivered late. Stephanie, the woman on the phone at UHaul, was extremely rude. And now the best (actually worst) part- our box was scheduled for delivery on Friday in the early morning. I waited in an empty apartment all morning and called the Ubox store when the box had still not arrived. They said the box could not be delivered until the afternoon because, oh, by the way, had anyone told me that the box was broken? Yes- the box was broken and they had to wait for someone to nail it back together for delivery. The box finally arrived around 3 pm with giant cracks throughout and obvious damage to the area where the lock was located. Hmmmmm- no mention of how this happened, but I was still charged. And, even though I purchased the $5000 insurance policy on the box, it took many weeks to get a $280 payment for about three times that much in damaged goods. Luckily the most expensive items were unharmed. I would recommend going with a different company like PODS. Their boxes look much more sturdy.
