  • I was on the phone for 50 minutes with Lowes customer service to order a washer. I wanted to use my Lowes credit card (which I physically didn't have in my possession, but didn't want to report it lost). When it came to wrapping up my order, they couldn't follow through with the transaction because the sales and credit card departments are separate from eachother. The rep gave me a "quote" number to bring into the store and swore that the Lowe's store would be able to pull up the information. I get to the store and I wait 20 minutes for even the appliance associate to acknowledge me. He's helping a customer who is just browsing. I call the store while I'm inside the store to see if the front end can help me with my order. The tall, older white female in the returns department prints out my temporary credit card, but gives me dirty looks and is unable to pull up my order from her computer. She sends me back to appliances and the associate is now helping another couple who wants to furnish their new freakin' house!!!!!!!!!! He tells me he'll be with me in a minute, which turns into 30+ minutes. If it weren't for the other associate who just pulls the items from the back, we would've waited there longer. He was the only one with any common sense. He calls the manager to help us, who did her best to get our order put into the system. That took about 10 minutes. When we get to the check out, the elderly female rings everything up until she assumes I want the 5% discount instead of the 6 months 0% apr. SHE DIDN'T EVEN ASK ME WHAT I WANTED!!!!!!!!!!!! This simple, stupid mistake, cost me another 30 minutes in the store when I was already heated from walking in there in the first place. She makes me go back to customer service with the horrible attitude female and another female helps me. She calls customer service to see if they can switch the promotion, but they won't do it. Then they call the same manager to process the order again. *Side note - They failed to tell me about the rebate program for the washer, also. Thank goodness I researched it online before I came into the store! I have never met a bunch of incompetent stooges in one setting. I have worked at large corporations doing what they do, and I could not believe the amount of lack of urgency and laziness among these people. The one helpful employee told us that there were 10 people that quit because of the new computer system and how it has been causing glitches with inventory, etc. I would rather drive out further to avoid this fiasco again.
