| - This is a fun festival for all ages. Lots of vendors selling their wares, food of every type from soup in bread bowls to huge turkey legs to pizza, fries, and the usual standards. There's about 10 different kinds of beer, 5 different wines, and the medieval margaritas.
Entertainment includes fun for all including rides and a petting zoo for the kids, camel rides, the largest rocking horse around, 10 stages of entertainment featuring musicians, jugglers, comedy, belly dancers, hypnotists and the most popular event, the joust.
There are always people in character from the staff to the guests and sometimes that's the best thing to see.
One disappointment...another festival I've been to has human chess which is a lot of fun. This festival does not have it. Bummer.
Compared to other ren fests, ticket prices are reasonable and parking is free. There are discounted tickets available at Harris Teeter and you can buy your regular admission tickets online to avoid lines when you get there.
One tip: If going for beer or wine, check the medieval margarita stands. They serve beer and the lines are usually much shorter!
