Okay. I have been to many salons. I am lucky to have amazing hair so no matter how it is cut it usually always looks good.
I went to Dolce for a couple of years for cuts with random people just because like I said, my hair always looks good but no one has ever blown me away. I didn't know what I was missing until I met with the top stylist at Toni & Guy at Chandler Mall (whom is now the Tucson Regional Director) where my mom used to get her hair done while waiting for her one day but that is another story. :P So for hair cuts I would rate Dolce with 3/5 stars. They are okay but nothing great by any means. I have asked for more volume and shorter layers in my crown forever from them and they just could never deliver and their styles fall flat.
For eyebrows I would rate them a 5/5. Again, I don't need anything but a cleaning up because I have great natural shape to my eyebrows but I have gone other places where they have screwed them up royally! Dolce has gotten them right every time no matter who I see there and they give me a little packet of that stuff that keeps my skin from breaking out which it does every single time I get waxed. They take their time and make sure it is perfect. I would always trust Dolce with my eyebrows. I also recently got my underarms waxed which turned out really well and I was satisfied with this service.
I had their chocolate Dolce facial on December 9th and it was sooooo amazing. I would rate it a 6/5. :) I wish I could remember the girl's name who did it but my long distance boyfriend was flying in so I was very nervous and more focused on other things but she did an amazing job to help me relax. You put on the towel thing and get under the blanket in the heated bed!! :) Then the facial was just out of this world. She was so knowledgeable and gave me some great advice. She was friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this service and already have to my friends.
I would rate the ambiance of the salon a 2/5. It is okay but really I agree with the person(s) who said it was having an identity crisis and can't make up it's mind of what it wants to be. It is kind of annoying having all of their little over priced cheapy jewelry and bags and stuff all over... :/ I find their staff at the front desk to be not that professional and seemingly snooty. Not always but 80% of the time, but I guess these are just the people at the front desk so what do you expect really? Though with the prices you pay and supposedly being a higher end salon / spa they should probably hire or provide trainings on professionalism to their associates- especially those welcoming and saying goodbye to their guests because this is one's first and last impression of their salon. I think this is one of Dolce's biggest problems.
I do love their hair products though, especially Kerestase and Moroccan Oil. Although I don't like how they always have them for you at the front it does get kind of annoying but I think that is the norm at salons these days to help you "get the look" yourself. I think it is helpful for people who don't know what they are doing but for people like me who own every hair product known to man and know what they are doing this is just repetitive and I always just tell them no thank you I have way too many products as it is- and that is the truth!! :)
I also had my nails (manicure) and toes (chocolate pedicure) done in the glitter gel on December 9th and the lady who did them was super nice and did spend a lot of time and did a great job. However, I feel their prices are just too much for the services they provide in this arena. I will say that though you can get the same services way cheaper at another place and probably a way more artistic job- Dolce is usually more relaxing. I went during the day on a Friday so I had the whole room to myself basically and it was so nice and relaxing. If I had more Hunnies I would probably continue to get my nails done here but if not I think it is too much really... (Dolce does have great deals a lot)
My mom has been going here for a few years (as well as my sister) and she has had some issues with her highlights- a level 7 does one side and their assistant does the other side?!? That is like having a top level cut one side of your hair and their assistant do the other?? That is unheard of!! They usually do not get all of her grays covered and sometimes put in bleach when she asked them for no bleach because it is damaging. This salon has a hard time admitting when they are wrong and it is very challenging and time consuming to get something they messed up corrected. I think they need to swallow some humility and treat their customers better (I mean my mom goes there at least every four weeks and spends tons of money there on products and services all of the time). This is Dolce's biggest downfall.
Customer service 101: The customer is always right. ALWAYS.
