I went to the LA fitness on December 29th and was greeted by a man named Jordan. I informed him that I wanted to do a 3 day trial for the gym because I was trying different gyms in the area before I made a decision and signed up for membership. He told me about the zero enrollment and said it would be ending the following day on the 30th and asked if I wanted to sign up.
I told him again now I was trying different gyms and wasn't going to sign up with anyone just yet. He then asked me to be honest and to tell him whether or not I was really going to sign up or if I just wanted to use the gym. I was very put off with his customer service right away. If he really wanted me to sign up he would have been a lot nicer to me and at least offered a free tour of the facility and given a review of the amenities. But he didn't. He then signed me up, sent me by guest pass through email and then said I was set. I worked out and then I left.
The following day on December 30th, Jordan called my cell phone and asked if I was going to sign up for the zero enrollment and I said no. He then said "so you used our gym for free then," in a VERY rude tone. I said yes, even though the reason why I am not signing up is because I found a different gym that is closer to me and has other facilities that I was looking for (pool). After I said yes, he says "okay cool," and HANGS UP ON ME. Never have I ever been hung up on by a business seeking paying members. I don't know who you have working for your facilities but I can tell you now that I won't be referring LA fitness to anyone I know and specifically that location for that very reason.
I hope in the future LA can seek employees that care about their customers rather than their money.
As to you Jordan, maybe you would have more paying members if you weren't such a dick. :)
