I went into the dealership, looking to buy a used Mercedes. I waited for an hour while the sales rep, Steve drove a golf cart around the dealership looking for the keys. He finally found them and we went for a test drive. I liked the car and was ready to deal. The sales rep gave me the asking price all in. I countered, asking for 5% off and I declined the extended warranty. The rep took it to his manager and came back 10-minutes later. He then informed me the car had been sold and I could write a backup offer. I wonder if we could have done the deal prior instead of the sales rep chasing the keys around. The whole thing was fishy to me. They yanked me around for 2-hours. I don't like the way they do business.
