  • This was my first time going to a professional basketball game at the new arena in my hometown of Cleveland Ohio and it was a great experience. I should've purchased the parking passes as well for easy parking but I forgot plus I didn't think anyone was going to be that interested in seeing the Golden State Warriors play but then I remembered they were really coming to see the Mr. Lebron James. Anyway my brother and I arrive and walk from the Tower City parking lot to the Quicken Loan Arena (formerly the Gund Arena) until they sold it to Quicken Loans for a gazillion dollars but that's another story. As we walk in there was a buzz in the air over the Cavs who went to the finals last year but lost to the Spurs. So we make our way thru all of the people at the arena until we get to the tunnel that leads to our seats and as my brother is asking the ticket guy for seat directions he noticed that he knows my brother from high school (a common thing that happens in Cleveland) and they chat for minute and then we proceed to grab our seats. Since we got to the game at the end of the 1st quarter we noticed that the Cavs were down by 15 points. They battled and battled and Lebron James was on fire as usual but so were Baron Davis and his guys. The little shows at the breaks were great as well with the shoot outs It was kind of weird when we first got there we sat next to a typical Cleveland family...Caucasian of course! (Not that it's racial thing, but it seems after 20 years of not living in Cleveland that black and white people just don't acknowledge each other still) Any way so my seat is next to the MOM and soon as I sit down she shifts all her weight away from me like I stink or maybe she just wanted to be closer to her family. It didn't really bother me but it was funny. Then by the beginning of the second half of the game she was giving me high fives and sharing stats with me. To make a long story short we had fun and I bought a couple of things to take back to LA with me. The Cavs lost to Golden State by atleast 15 points but it was a great experience being in such a beautiful arena in my home town.
