| - My dad was coming to town for his birthday and I wanted to take him somewhere Vegasy. As we were also celebrating my husband's birthday, I figured it was worth the splurge. I went in ahead of my husband and parents to give the hostess my credit card; I didn't want arguments when the bill came and she accommodated my request. The food was absolutely to die for! We got the oysters, shrimp cocktail, and fried ravioli as apps. The shrimp are huge and my husband said they were the best oysters ever. I got a bowl of clam chowder and it was seriously the best I've ever had. Everyone tried it and agreed. As for entrees: filet with crab legs (perfect) for me, a steak the size of his plate (dad), crab stuffed filet (I think) for hubs, and pasta with seafood for mom. Even though this was a highly anticipated visit with my parents from Ohio, no one spoke. The baked potatoes are big enough to share. Our table was literally overflowing with delicious food. So obviously I will go back...when I pay off this trip. I by no means think it was overpriced, but it was $500 after tip. The men each had a beer or two and my mom had a gin/tonic. The wine list looked fab and I would have indulged, but I was 7 months pregnant. The loss of a star is unfortunate- there was a group of females and older males in the back room; the "ladies" frequently walked past our table to the restroom and it definitely had a Goodfellas feel to it; which added to the atmosphere of old timey Vegas, but was unsettling nonetheless. Plus the hostess, while accommodating, was not dressed professionally. I just feel for a $500 dinner, I expect a higher standard. They have a dress code but hostess and much of clientele did not meet it.
We'll go back!!
