I decided to stay at Gold Coast when I added on a couple of nights to a Vegas trip and wanted to chill out and just play some video poker. I had a comped 1 bedroom suite, and although the furnishings were out dated, the very spacious room was immaculate and comfortable. I can say it was cleaner than many of the 5 star properties I have stayed at in Vegas. It was very quiet and I slept very well. The casino is mostly a locals place but there is good quality video poker and a decent variety of slots. I had spectacular service at the Island Bar playing VP during Monday Night Football. Dinner at the Cortez Room was excellent, and may be the most under rated restaurant in Vegas. It is very reasonable, and I will definitely go back. The only negative is the consistently slow service and mediocre food at Friday's. All in al, Gold Coast was a very pleasant surprise.
