  • I went to Ultimate Dive & Travel (UDT) to get my SSI SCUBA Open Water Certification. I could not have made a better choice. The shop is owned locally, something I support when I can. The dive shop owner and instructors obviously have a passion for diving. The instructors were all very experienced divers who enjoy sharing their knowledge of diving with new people. Classes were small group and the focus was on making diving an enjoyable and safe activity. Classroom sessions were held at the dive shop near Shea and Scottsdale Road. While the in-water classes were held in a heated community pool in Mesa. I opted to complete my final open water certification dives at Lake Pleasant. I would recommend UDT for beginner or advanced SCUBA classes or for a place to buy competitively priced equipment from a very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Now I just need to decide when I can take my first dive trip and truly enjoy my new SCUBA skills.
