After our 4 year old Aussie was bitten by a rattlesnake, we took to him to Emergency Care and they were awesome with him. He had actually been bitten the night before, and we didn't know anything about it at the time; by morning his head was swollen and he looked a lot worse than he actually was.
He was evaluated and although they encouraged us to give our Buddy the antivenin, we were assured that he was a very stable patient. We decided against the antivenin since it had been at least 12 hours since he had been bitten and they were very gracious about our decision.
He came home and rested the remainder of the day. He was drinking water again by the following morning and eating by that evening.
I want to thank you for not pressuring us to use the antivenin and respecting our opinion without making us feel like bad parents.
We will definitely bring him back here for future needs. Thank you!!!
