  • The older I get, the more I like the smaller independent grocery stores. Shop n Save is one of those stores. I often find myself there on my way home from work for essentials but also some amazing deals. They have great customer service and specials to keep up with the larger chains. For example, their 5 fo $19.99 deal. Selected meat and frozen items, mostly well over the $4 mark individually, can be mixed and matched and as long as you buy 5, the cost collectively is $19.99. It usually means I get at least one of the items for free. The selection changes daily but I've purchased steaks, burgers, ground meat and any number of frozen items (pizza, fries, burritos) to stock up cheaply. They also have special two day deals on Thursdays and Fridays that are often unbeatable. And let's not forget Wacky Wednesdays! They may not have the longer hours or wide selection on specialty food items that the larger stores do, but they more than make up for it with their hometown feel.
