So maybe I had Whole Foods all wrong? I mean how could this store possibly be better than the other area Natural Foods stores?
Well I decided to investigate and see for myself. Besides being in an awkward SouthPark location (yeah I know, what isn't awkward about SouthPark), I couldn't find much wrong with this store.
First off, when the store was being built, I thought where are they going to put parking? Obviously there's not much in front of the store. I thought maybe they'd do like Lowe's in Southend and put it on top but here, they went under the store. That's where I parked. Have to say, I like the underground lot. They have both gradual down escalator and an elevator to take your cart down.
The store itself is very spacious and things are not crammed together like the other area natural foods stores. The aisles are high but I'm sure that is to maximize space. There is a big produce section with an abundance of pre-packaged fruit and veggies (yum). There is also a large create your own size bulk foods section, a fresh fish section, bakery and huge hot foods bar. And everything else you'd expect from a grocery store.
Honestly, I was impressed with the selection and the prices for many items I was looking at were not bad at all.
To top it all off, the employees here were friendly and very helpful. And there are plenty of checkouts up front...even more than some Teeters in the area. I'll definitely have to come back to explore a bit more.
