| - My husband and I finally decided to give geisha a go after hearing many friends rave about how fun it is and how great the happy hour deals are. So, 3:00 pm sushi Sunday it was today.
We sat outside and the environment was great. Cool vibes, and our cooler waitress came up and got our drink order. I got a lemon drop - it's my favorite drink for sushi and I get it all the time. I was disappointed by the drink. It had a ton of ice chips floating on the top and was really harsh, not smooth or sweet in the slightest.
We got a few appetizers - the gyoza was delicious! I loved the sauce that came with it. We also got a shrimp tempura roll and it was what I expected it to be - it was, in a word, alright. Nothing to write home about.
I got the salmon seaweed salad bowl and my husband got the Astro boy roll. He loved his roll and it looked beautiful (I'm mad I didn't take pictures!). The salmon bowl had great flavor, but I wish the salmon was cut into manageable pieces instead of huge slices of it covering the whole bowl. Without a knife (they only give you chopsticks, which I can appreciate, but still), it was really hard to get a full bite of flavor. It was still delicious though.
Experience wise, the crowd wasn't really my kind of crowd. Pretty typical old town Scottsdale crowd - complete with loud golf carts full of drunk people (at 3:00 pm on a Sunday! Go to church you sinners!) ready to par-tay.
I would say if it's late and you want sushi and to maybe sing some drunk karaoke, this place would be tops. If you want some chill sushi with your husband on a Sunday afternoon, it's not the best.
