| - I am not a ramen connoisseur, but I do like it, and my daughters love it. That being said, I thought Fukumimi was the best ramen I've had in town (better than Monta!). They had a wider variety of broths than most, including chicken, miso, salt, and spicy. I really appreciated the lighter flavor of the chicken ramen for a change of pace, and the chicken that came in the soup was really good, not fatty and "blobby" like some chicken in restaurants is.
Prices are average for ramen - $7-8 per bowl.
Ambiance is seriously almost exactly the same as Monta Chaya further south on Eastern, with a long bench, wood paneling and a decent-size bar.
As expected, our orders came out pretty fast. Service was friendly and efficient.
It doesn't really matter to me because I like what I like, but my husband was very impressed with the number of Japanese people (even Japanese-speaking) that were dining with us. So maybe Fukumimi is pretty close to the real thing?
