| - I was out in Glendale for a graduation event and my friend, who was driving, was originally from Germany so I recommended we try out this place. I have to say, love the location in old town Glendale and rather charming decor with waitresses dressed in traditional German garb like you would see at an Octoberfest in Munich, which occurs in September, not October, but whatever.
As for the food, a bit off from what I've had in Germany - their Schnitzel here came across more like a chicken fried steak and the crust was not as crispy as I've had in Germany (I'm not from there but have visited several times). The one thing I did notice, and I appreciate the German beers on tap, was that the beer tasted just a bit off, and generally that is an indication that the establishment just needs to clean and sanitize their lines for their taps. I'm a home brewer so I may be more picky about this than most but I had my friend try the beer and she noticed the difference as well.
We also had the apple strudel for desert and it was okay - part of the overall German meal experience. For me, charming place, a unique food experience but relative to the prices point I wouldn't say it was the best German meal experience I've had in Phoenix but it was till fun. All I ask, flush out those taps but I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area. :-)
