I had taken my dogs to Town Center Animal Hospital over the last four years. My 13 year old lab/basset mix was experiencing breathing problems and, given his other health issues, there was little to be done for his quality of life. We decided to let him go. What should have been a heartbreaking five minute procedure became a twenty+ minute ordeal. When the administration of two doses in an incorrectly placed catheter did not work, they attempted two other sites. Finally another doctor stepped in and opened up a fourth site and was able to administer the third (successful) lethal dose. This wonderful dog deserved a better end to his story and now I question the treatments he was administered earlier in the day. I will have to find another veterinarian. Updated - I met with Dr Lavengco today and he was very honest and concerned about our experience. I appreciate this very much. Despite the problems with the euthanasia, I believe their care and treatment was appropriate and correct. Thank you for taking time for me today.
