| - I hadn't been to The Roasting Company (or RoCo as all their signage inside said) in about 12 years, so I was excited to see all the changes after they revamped and added a bar. The fella and I stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday night, and we were a little confused when we first walked in. Yes, there's a big ol' sign right above your head that tells you to order at the counter, but still.
We ventured over to the counter and searched for a menu. The sides and veggies of the day were written on chalkboards, but no menu to be found except for the paper to-go ones. There were two cashiers, and I had to wait for them to finish talking to each other before one finally took my order.
I got the 1/4 rotisserie white meat chicken with rice and black beans, and the fella got chicken with jaco sauce and rice. There was SO much meat on my chicken!! And it was moist and delicious. My rice and beans were pretty tasty, too. I tried the fella's chicken since I had never had jaco sauce, and it was like a sweet, smoky barbecue sauce.
He wanted a drink, so we had to pay for our meal at the food counter, then head over to the bar to buy the drink, which was a little annoying. I think you can eat and drink at the bar to put everything on one check, but there were no seats there when we went. By the time we leave around 7 p.m., the place was hoppin'!
Overall, pretty delicious food, especially on a cold, winter night, but the service was a little iffy for me, so A-OK it is.
