| - This was not my first choice. We booked our weekend (Sat & Sun nights) online for NY NY but I screwed up and booked Sun & Mon and noticed in time to cancel, and changing to Sat & Sun was so much more expensive, and we had plans that would be keeping up pretty busy the whole time, so we decided to skimp on the hotel this time.
My feeling is that it's just a bed, so I can spend my time where ever i want, and crash out in the hotel, who cares if it's not the best hotel? But, that's not totally true. I do like a nice, high end hotel. This just was not the weekend to do that. Last time we were in Vegas in Sept, we stayed at the Delano Towers. Hooters is the polar opposite of The Delano Towers.
The hotel is old, it's decorated just like a Hooters restaurant. Lots of pine paneling, tacky orange and brown stuff everywhere. The hotel is the brick and mortar version of the Hooter Girls uniforms. Old school, tacky, cheap....yet fun.
Our room was not anything special, but it was clean. It was old and the whole place needs a major overhaul, but it wasn't like the worst place in the world.
We spent some time at the Hooters bar on Sat night after getting in from the UNLV game, that was pretty fun. Trey was the bartender and kept us entertained.
I am not sure if we will stay here again. It's off the strip, but that is convenient for us since we have a fair amount of activities that involve visiting my bf's daughter who is a UNLV rebel girl, so we go out to the football stadium, etc, so being off strip is actually better for us. It's not that far from the strip, anyways.
