| - Absinthe is my favorite show in Vegas - yet. It's exactly the kind of production you'd want to see in Vegas: acrobatic, risky, and at times death-defying, while at the same time naughty, hugely in-your-face, and unabashedly off-the-cuff in spirit.
As for the stunts, there's nothing not to like - and there are many of them, in quick succession - whether the chair act at the beginning, the head-standing strongmen, the figure-skating-inspired roller act, or the men on the highwire towards the end. If anything, the most "risque" act of all, the one with the busty blonde inside a bubble, was also the cheesiest, but still fairly enjoyable and worth a few cheap giggles.
As for the jokes and script, they're all enjoyable cheap shots at virtually everyone in attendance. No matter who you are or where you're from, expect to have some laughs directed your way, at your expense. If anything, it's a highly enjoyable comedic respite from the ills and pressures of the world. For those easily offended, I'd gently suggest that the whole reason you traveled to Vegas was to take a little break from reality, right? Thought so. Chill out and let loose a bit.
The show is hosted in a big circular tent on the Strip in front of Caesars Palace, and seating consists of folding wooden chairs tightly packed and locked into place around center stage. There are pros and cons; it can get a bit chilly in the winter months, but the flip side is that you're tightly packed with lots of other people in a small space.
